Great grippers
I walk through the winter down into and out of our river valley through multiple freeze/thaws that leave long swaths of ice on some parts of the trail. Grippers are a must and I've gone through many pairs. Most didn't even last one season because the the thin rubber bits broke or the coiled wire worked its way off. The one pair I had that was sturdy and effective was very heavy. These, though, are much better designed in all regards. They are lightweight. The little teeth wheels are very good on ice, much better than coils and just as good as studs. The rubber is substantial and seems unlikely to tear in the near term, unlike the ones that have 1/4" rubber strips. They're also not that hard to get on your boots, certainly no harder than others that rely on a pressure fit.So after years of experimentation and disappointment, I'm sold on these.

They stay on but...
The grip on these is pretty good and they'll definitely stay on, unlike some brands, but my main beef is with the rusting they do. I followed the instructions to stop this from happening but not matter what I do, the wire holding everything on rusts like mad very quickly, which then causes them to break. My last pair just broke today after only 2 months of use! I've bought 4 pairs in 3 years and it's always the wire that rusts off and then they won't stay on, becoming completely useless. I want to love these, but for the price, and how often I have to replace them, it's just not worth it. Time to look elsewhere, me thinks.

Great product
I actually used them last Spring to run on the ice, slightly covered with water ("don't try at home" sort of thing). You just have to get used to them - they have short (2-3 mm) "sideways rolling" effect the comparably hard surface. It can potentially compromise your stability to the point of loosing your balance, but only when you walk on the solid, hard surfaces (marble, tiles etc etc). Wash in warm water + dry after use and they will be like new next season.Bought 7 of them - family and gifts.Highly recommended.

Had such high hopes, but they just weren't our favorites
We bought two different sizes of these hoping to use them in the winter since most people don't shovel and it often turns into sheets of ice. These weren't as great as we had imagined they'd be. I think this is probably better suited for the wilderness or in more remote areas because this is not meant for city life. I wore them and everyone and their dog could hear you a mile away. It seemed pretty durable but the sizing was off. The small fit more like what should be XS and i should have gotten a medium instead because these were way too tight.I ended up chucking them and going to another brand that works way better and offered more grip without the noisiness.

Great product.
Great. Used those before. Now I bought them for me (again), my son and my wife. I tried them in a winter park while running on icy trail (solid ice with wet outer layer - crazy slippery!) without any issues. Very stable and secure. I was a bit hesitant in the begging, but after a hundred miters I discovered that they have a very secure grip even on the surface I've mentioned before. Highly recommended.PS: one more thing on the down side (nothing is perfect!) - if on hard, flat surface (tiles, marble floor etc.) they tend to have a slight "roll" effect due to the details of the construction (rotating "diamond" spikes). I've never had them roll to the point of losing balance, but we are all different and...it's good to keep in one's mind anyway.

Good But Not Perfect
These are solid cleat-like additions to a boot and fortunately fit over oversized insulated winter boots, unlike most brands.I got the XL size and it fit well and snug on my size 11 huge baffins I use for ice fishing. They don't have the same kind of grip as a crampon or anything, but if you make sure to drag your heels you can survive anything but the slickest of ice. They are a little pricey and not as sticky as I had hoped but way better than nothing and better than most of the competition

Excellent product, but not sure about the sizing
I've only been using mine for a week, but they're the very first grippers (of *many* I've tried in the past) that I've ever felt 100% confident in. I live 6-7 hours north of Duluth, MN, where we have ice/packed snow on the roads for many months of the year. I like to walk the dog before sunrise, but I can't really see the pavement then, and that's always been a problem in the past. With these grippers, I don't feel the need to even look down at the surface I'm walking on any more! I've experimented with walking on sheer ice, mixed ice/snow, and bare asphalt, and I haven't been able to make myself slip at all. The medium grippers fit on my women's size 9 shoe, but it takes a fair bit of effort to get them on. I'm going to buy myself another pair as a backup, and I think I'll try a size "Large" next.

provide excellent traction on ice and packed snow
These stay put on my boots, provide excellent traction on ice and packed snow. Worthwhile to spend the extra for a good set of traction chains! I should mention I live in Calgary; the relevance is the icy conditions we experience after a big melt during a Chinook and inevitable deep freeze that follows. I use these daily for walking the dog on what used to be treacherous city sidewalks and pathways.

Medium doesn't fit my size 9 shoes
I tried to make it fit my size 9 shoes, doesn't work. Too tite. I even tried to make it fit on my girlfriend shoes size 7.5 Doesn't fit either. Returning these. Not sure i will buy the size L, since the Medium were very small.
